What's new
The latest changes and fixes, newest first.
August 2026
- Your room's controls now tell you what the room is before you touch anything: open, locked or hidden, how many fit, and who is let in or kept out. The two dropdowns are three buttons, and the one you are on is the green one. Hidden already meant locked, so there is no longer a way to ask for both.
- Fixed: keeping somebody out of your room now hides the room from them as well, and it stays that way in the next room you make. Before, they came back able to see the room and sit watching it, and the panel said your room was visible to everyone.
- Fixed: when you leave and somebody else takes over your room, the room stays exactly as it is. It used to rename itself and re-lock itself around the people still talking in it.
- Reset now really does clear everything in this server: the name goes back to the default, and nobody is left let in or kept out. It only touches the server you press it in.
- New: the public site shows what I actually do. Every feature now comes with a picture of the thing it makes: a code post, a party roster, a voice channel.
- Fixed: the features and about pages were running very long lines on a wide screen, and printing or saving the front page came out blank below the top.
- New: a Sound and video button on your room's controls. Sound quality, video quality, and which part of the world the voice goes through. Whoever manages the server chooses which of those people may touch, on the Rooms page.
- New: your server's page has a link showing what I did there in the last week, and why anything I refused was refused. It is the first place to look when something did not seem to work. I keep it for a week, and it never records anybody's messages.
- New: Let in or keep out now shows you who is let in and who is kept out, already picked, instead of two empty boxes. Take somebody off and they go back to normal, neither let in nor kept out, which was not possible before.
- Fixed: locking, hiding or opening a room did nothing and showed an error. I was missing a permission I never asked you for. If your server uses rooms, open its Rooms page and use the link there to give me Manage Permissions, and the buttons will work. I now say which permission is missing instead of just failing.
- New: a box at the bottom of your server's page for telling me when something is broken. It already knows which server you're on, so you only have to say what happened.
- New: if I ever have to switch a feature off everywhere for a moment, your server's page now says so, instead of just showing it as off. Your settings stay exactly as you left them.
- New: adding Iris to a server now sends a link straight to that server's page, where everything about her is set up.
- Fixed: with codes switched off she no longer posts in a channel you set, and says so on the page instead of going quiet.
- New: Parties. Run /party in any channel to post a roster people join with a click, built from a layout you save once and reuse.
- New: you choose how many parties one person can be in at once. It is one unless you change it, on the Parties page.
- New: a reserve for a party, so people can volunteer to fill empty spots; Iris pulls them in before the start and a host can do it any time.
- New: private reminders 15 and 5 minutes before a party starts, straight to each person who signed up.
- New: a host can edit a party after posting it, and set how many parties each person may run at once.
- New: a welcome page, so anyone can see what Iris is and who made her.
- New: a status panel for each server, with the full list of codes she has sent.
- New: Iris got a face and a fresh new look.
July 2026
- New: the control panel went live, so you can set Iris up from the web.
